Deliver Us From Evil – Readers will love this novel for many reasons.

In this well-written, fast paced romance with strong Christian themes, we meet Brannon Callahan, a search and rescue helicopter pilot who works in the Great Smoky Mountains national park in Tennessee.  Brannon is a beautiful, competent woman who has come to this point in her life with some losses and pain.  One stormy night a helicopter carrying a U.S. Marshal transporting a donor heart to a man holding the key information to breaking up a child slavery ring crashes in her park.  She mobilizes with her team to rescue them, not knowing that the rescue will become complex and difficult.
Roark Holland is the U.S. Marshal on the helicopter.  Devoted to his work, he is haunted by a past case in which a child lost her life.  He has moved away from spirituality and in the beginning of the book, is pessimistic and unhappy.  When the helicopter crashes he is shocked to find that the pilot of the rescue is female.  Brannon knows there is a much more complex problem occurring when she and her team are shot down as they try and rescue Roark and the heart.  They have to hike out of the wilderness.
Interwoven with the chapters about Brannon and Roark is the realistic story of the Asian teens who are being held as part of the human slave trade.  As the truth comes closer to being revealed it is nearly impossible to put this book down!
Readers will love this novel for many reasons.  It is a top-notch romantic suspense with building attraction between Brannon and Roark, the inspirational aspects of the story are neatly integrated into the plot, and the writing is superb.  My one question for this author involves Brannon’s fellow ranger and dear friend, Lincoln.  Will the next book be his story?  I hope the answer is yes.
