“The Ten Commandments is intellectually stimulating and practically relevant.”

30Aug10

Mark F. Rooker suggests that the Ten Commandments constitute the fundamental framework upon which all the biblical commandments are based. After quickly surveying introductory issues, Rooker turns to a sequential analysis of each commandment.

Pastors, teachers and studious-but-busy Christians will appreciate this volume. It’s simple, clear and succinct. This work follows the organization of the commandments.

To illustrate the value of the commandments, and comment on their application, Rooker employs other Scripture and Jewish writings. The final chapter discusses the notion of the Law for Christians, and how it should (and should not) be applied.

The Ten Commandments is intellectually stimulating and practically relevant. Rooker proves that although the Ten Commandments are found in the Old Testament, they remain a vital source for godly wisdom.
